On the occasion of the Sea Festival 2011 held in Khanh Hoa province, Charity Fund of Miss Vietnam World under the contest organizer and brand owner, Vinpearl JSC, rewarded gifts to pupils from disadvantageous fisherman families in Cam Ranh City of Khanh Hoa province. The program was an opportunity to exchange with Miss Vietnam World 2010 Luu Thi Diem Huong, the second runner-up Pham Thuy Vy and the beauties Le Thi Dieu Han, Nguyen Thi Kieu Tien, Ho Thi Oanh Yen and Ly Bao Tran.
In the early morning of 12 June, the beauties of Miss Vietnam World 2010 eagerly prepared gifts for the coming charity trip. Departing from Phu Quy tourist port (Nha Trang City), the delegation took more than 50 kilometres to arrive at Cam Ranh Political Fostering Center (No. 1, Pham Hung street) - where the ceremony took place. Right at the moment of getting off the car, the Miss, runners-up and beauties were beaming in response to the warm welcome of local people. Holding hands of and making recommendations to each pupil, the beauties of the Miss Vietnam World 2010 not only presented the pupils with gifts, but also encouraged them to go to school.
In the warm and meaningful atmosphere of the gift-granting ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son - Member of Cam Ranh City Party Standing Committee cum Vice Chairman of Cam Ranh City People's Committee said: "We welcome and appreciate the sharing spirit of Vinpearl JSC for the community. This activity is a bridge to connect the community, a call for businesses to pay more attention and care about disadvantageous children in the society". Attending the gift-giving ceremony, there were pupils from disadvantageous families. Most of them came from poor fisherman families in coastal villages; some of them were orphans while some others were under the circumstance that their fathers left and their mothers suffered from serious diseases, etc.
However, overcoming the difficulties, they kept pursuing their studies while supporting their families to earn a living every day. Touched by the circumstances of those pupils, the reigning Miss Vietnam World 2010 Luu Thi Diem Huong shared: "I have been with the Charity Fund of Miss Vietnam World to many places across our country, each destination left unforgettable memories to me. To Cam Ranh this time in order to support the children, I believe that with our help, there will be a better future for them and their families. I highly appreciate such a trip, as it helps me to become more mature and experienced, and also offers me an opportunity to contribute to the community."
After the gift-giving ceremony, Diem Huong and other beauties also brought candies and cakes to each table and had friendly chats with the children. There was no gap between the beauties and the children; all was friendly and laughing like sisters and brothers. The exchange was even more exciting when Dieu Han beat time to sing the song "Bon Phuong Troi". In addition, the second runner-up Thuy Vy also eagerly went to the farthest corners to talk to children. Although she was not yet fluent in Vietnamese, Vy tried hard to express in her mother tongue. With peals of laughter, the children applauded to cheer and encourage Vy who lived away from home but was always aware of being a Vietnamese. Responding to the question from a pupil, Vy smiled and replied that after the graduation she wanted to return to work in Vietnam. Before leaving, the beauties promised to return to Cam Ranh and wished the children to study well for a brighter future.
Mr. Dang Thanh Thuy, Deputy General Director of Vinpearl JSC, also offered words of encouragement to the children: "Since its inception, Vinpearl JSC has been aware that the social responsibility is in close relationship with business activities. Being the organizer of the Miss Vietnam World 2010, we have established the charity fund under the name of the contest with a commitment to spend all the funds collected from selling tickets and auctioning the right to award the crown on social and charitable activities. We hope this activity will contribute a small part to encouraging pupils with learning eagerness but facing difficulties. This will be a motivation for them to continue their education, for a better future for themselves and their families, and to contribute to the society and country".
After the final round of the second Miss Vietnam World -2010, Vinpearl JSC as the organizer and holder of the contest carried out a number of social and charitable programs across the country, with the participation of the Miss and many candidates listed in the final of this contest.
